Our Helicopter Sections are the most visible part of the Aviation Command. The eight Helicopter Sections are grouped into Regions for supervisory purposes. There is a First Sergeant who is responsible for each region. Each year our Flight Crews transport thousands of sick and injured patients to the hospital, search for hundreds of missing persons and assist State and local law enforcement agencies with numerous other missions.

In addition to the eight MSP Helicopter Sections listed to the left, three other helicopters provide Law Enforcement and Medevac assistance in Maryland. The United States Park Police maintains three helicopters (Eagle 1, Eagle 2 & Eagle 3) based at the "Eagles Nest" at Anacostia Park in Washington, DC. Their assistance is invaluable to the Command and they are a valued asset in our system.
